Todd Barr:

Living in Nova Scotia, it is a new son and the Atlantic Ocean that are inspiring me these days - beautiful wordless wonders. My dancing roots stem from Micheal Jackson's Thriller album, to the Grateful Dead, to moving with Gabrielle Roth and the many teachers that have come before and after.

Sarah Blagg:

Sarah believes the roots of the arts are well-being, expression and community. Her path includes visual art, movement and dance, performance, various deep personal growth modalities , yoga and Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms work.

Michael Covey:

From 6 years old to 60, I've been Dancing. I bring to The Move experiences in Dance from Big Sur California to Burlington Ontario. I love to create a Musical Space to explore Movement.

Kate Huband:

For the past eleven years Kate has been weaving the arts, spirituality, healing and community together through her work and play in the world. She has a background in earth based spirituality, theatre, creative writing and movement, storytelling, clown, drama therapy and body centred therapies, yoga and the 5Rhythms. She has been highly influenced by the work and philosophies of Starhawk and the Wiccan Reclaiming Tradition, Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms, Popular Education and Eco-Feminism.

Nan Keyser:

Nan Keyser outreach co-ordinator of the MOVE, has a background in expressive movement, yoga teaching, counselling and body-focused psychotherapy, Goddess spirituality, collective creations, authentic movement, Love to Dance, and body-mind-spirit healing. Her inspirations and creative re-sources are Mother Earth and the elements, social justice and freedom movements, the body as art form, teacher, healer, and diverse music with incredible grooves, penetrating rhythms, and sweet, sacred harmonies from around the world. She co-facilitates workshops and groups in ceremonial movement, and expressive healing with sister core member Erica Ross.

Expressive Healing

Erica Ross:

Erica Ross transmits her lifelong love of dance, creativity, ritual and ecstasy, to every aspect of her life as mother, teacher, dancer, artist and healer. She has danced on sacred ground around the globe, carrying with her deep gratitude for her teachers - Honey and Oscar Ross, Boris Volkoff, Gabrielle Roth, Vinn Marti, Roula Said, Esmerelda Enrique and Olga Sandolowich. She also pays homage to all the elders and visionaries from traditions such as Native, Buddhist, Sufi and Pagan, including her grandmother Mary Winer, who's favourite saying was "I'd rather dance than eat!"

Expressive Healing

Layah Jane Singer-Wilson:

Layah Jane sings, writes songs, performs, teaches kindergarten, dances, swims, and loves her way joyfully through life. With modern, ballet, 5Rhythms, Continuum, yoga, and theatre experience under her belt (or in her leotards), Layah loves finding the place in movement, where mind becomes heart becomes body becomes soul.

David Tomas:

David delivers fitness and lifestyle programs to infants, children and youth. He believes children have lost their connection with the earth and their ancestral spirit. Fun and funny aerobic adventures are designed to introduce the wild to the doorsteps of children’s imaginations. Ecstatic trance dance with adults is simply a generational shift of these intimate and fun events. He brings his own dance formula to share and blend with the deep and beautiful dance experiences of other like souls.

Priya:

Priya loves to dance, and stretch the mind and soul.

Ah'na Difelice:

Ah'na believes 'Clowning is Heart Work' and finds spirituality through clowning, movement, original play and of course, dance. The Move is a community of kindred spirits and Ah'na feels at home amongst this tribe.

Stacey Greger:

Stacey joins the Move Collective after years of dancing with core members at Gabrielle Roth's "Sweat Your Prayers." Along with ecstatic dance, Stacey has also studied yoga, aikido and women's boxing. She currently teaches eurythmy (a form of movement taught in Waldorf Schools) at the Alan Howard Waldorf School in Toronto. Stacey is also entering her second
year of the Gestalt Therapy Program.

Amy Lister :

Amy Lister is a lover of dance and all forms of expressive arts. She has studied with many master movers such as Vinn Marti, Gabrielle Roth, Eva Vigran, Karen and Allen Kaeja among others, and continues to be inspired by exploring the human spirit in motion. She is proud to be one of the founding members of Toronto's MOVE collective. Now residing in Calgary Alberta, when not working or dancing, Amy can be found with her family, friends and her dog, Riley, playing in the mountains!
